This has been Kate's new made up language since Sunday. She loves to just ramble on. I love to see her imagination going! You'll notice you can actually make out the word "fish" and "bubble." She just threw those in there for fun.
Kate and Daddy baked brownies tonight. That lucky girl got to lick the bowl! (dustin doesn't let me lick brownie batter when I'm pregnant because of the egg!!) Kate and Mommy "posing." Kate playing outside in the yard the other day.
Yes, day 7 of our binky-less house has taken a turn. I just simply couldn't take it anymore. I felt as if I'd given it enough time and things were not improving. Be disappointed in me if you must but it had to be done.
Her days at home were spent napping from 2:30-4:30...finally and her days at daycare were spent screaming from 12:30-2.
Here she has decided not to sleep but has made this "bed" out of a ironing board and cora's changing pad. Yesterday she napped at 3:30...finally and today it was 3:00 with NO nap in sight.
The sad, sad crying was just too much for me.
So I think we'll try again later some other time. For now my sweet, sweet little girl is sound asleep sucking on that little binky that brings so much joy to her life.
I guess "disaster" may be a little extreme but naptime at daycare today was terrible. Kate screamed from 12:30-2:00. She finally fell asleep on her own at 2:15. But then did sleep until 3:30...which is way later than usual at daycare. Luckily all the kids were taking long naps so it was still quiet.
The crying was definitely bad for 2 reasons: the other kids were trying to sleep and it was causing a few kids to act up and not stay on their beds AND it was REALLY sad. She was miserable.
But more annoying than the crying was that she kept crying "Mommy Up-a" so I'd snuggle her close to me over by her bed. Then right when I'd think she was calming down she'd say "lay down" then "Mommy leave." So I'd leave her alone only for her to repeat the same exact thing OVER and OVER again for an hour and a half!
But we survived. Bedtime was perfect again. So not too bad overall I guess.
Right now she's napping-Day 3 nap with no binky. We were out shopping though until 2:30 so she crashed in the car.
Anyways...that's the end of my binky update. I think it'll just only get better from here. We're getting there.

Tonight is the end of day 1 being binky-free for Kate! It was an unexpected move that happened this morning because her blue binky (her favorite) got a hole in it. She put it in the garbage. So I asked her if she wanted to put her pink one in the garbage too! She did! (Dustin quickly took it out when she wasn't looking) We'll fast forward to nap time. 12:45- crying for binky. I go get them and finish cutting them so they can't be used.
12:50-realizes they are broken and cannot use them...continues crying
12:50-says "I wake up" and goes back out to play
1:00-go back into room and put her mattress on the floor so I can lay with her
1:25-3:00 ASLEEP!
(I realize you can't see she's not using her binky but you understand I didn't want to wake her!)
Fast forward again to bedtime. 8:15-snuggle with mommy on my bed while I watch tv
8:30-ASLEEP! I just laid her in bed like normal and she went right to sleep!

I wasn't expecting to get rid of her binky quite yet but with her 2nd birthday coming up next month and the baby on the way, I thought what a better time. I walked past a boy in the 3 year old room at daycare the other day with a binky in his mouth and decided I didn't want that to be Kate. I know tomorrow will be rough at daycare but I'm sure I'm doing the right thing.
Today Kate said, "Baby brother, I kiss you" and kissed my stomach. I thought that was SOOOO sweet! We've never done anything like that, she just wanted to kiss the baby. (By the way, that's just what she calls the baby. We'll see if she knows something we don't!)
Then later she made me pull up my shirt and gave "the baby" her pacifier! It was pretty cute.
haha! you may not have known you were waiting for a moment...but here it is:
WE'RE GOING TO HAVE ANOTHER BABY!
That's right. I'm pregnant! Almost 15 weeks. I had an early ultrasound today and it made it so real. It was just amazing to see my little miracle weighing only 4 ounces moving and squirming all around already! I even felt it move already during the ultrasound.
In case you're wondering...I've been feeling pretty good. I've been REALLY tired but that's about it. I'm also getting too big too fast!! I made sure there was only one baby in there today! So that can't be my excuse!

For anyone who may care...(probably mostly family!) I wanted to give you a potty update on Kate. Well, she wears undies now! All the time with the exception of bed...which has been unnesessary so far since she is always dry anyways. She hasn't gone in a diaper at night for a little over a week. She wakes me up once in the middle of the night to pee then right when she gets up in the morning she goes. She has had 3 NEAR accidents in the past 9 days. She catches herself and runs to the potty! I'm pretty surprised and impressed with the little girl! I hope she keeps it up!

Last night we went to TGI Fridays with my brother and his wife. Trying to feed Kate is ridiculous most times so I didn't come up with anything she'd eat (that I wanted to pay $5 for her to not eat). So I found some goldfish crackers in my purse and thought that would make a lovely dinner. Kate does love tortillas so I gave her one of mine from my fajitas. This is what Kate decided to eat for dinner.
This is what I saw Kate doing a lot today. I don't know exactly what happened. She woke up today and decided she was going to pee only in the potty today. When she woke up I didn't put her diaper back on her. I left her nakey to run around the house. I put her potty chair in the living room where we were playing. I didn't ever tell her to go potty or ask her if she had to go...I just didn't put a diaper on her and put her potty in the room and reminded her she wasn't wearing her diaper.
WELL, she peed on the potty 9 times today with 0 accidents. Yes...0 accidents! She would just say poopy potty and go over to the potty whenever she had to go. Sometimes we weren't even in the living room. She would say poopy potty and walk into the living room and go.
Too bad we have to go to daycare tomorrow. I don't think they'll appreciate her naked butt quite like I do! Hopefully she keeps it up!

Kate's beautiful "smile"! This is what I get when I ask her to smile. It seems all kids go through this!!
This is what you will find Kate doing for at least 4 hours every day! That girl loves to color!
Kate LOVES to play with baby Cora! Here she has just given Cora lots of her bath toys to play with!
We baked mini-cupcakes for Kate to take to daycare on Friday. She loves to help and it's fun that she finally kinda can! Please excuse the picture...dustin changed the settings and in the moment I didn't know what was wrong!
Dustin and I had a very nice Valentine's day! We visited with my dad for a little while then took Kate to Dustin's parents' house so we could go out. We went out to dinner at a restaurant called Bravo!, an Italian restaurant. We were gonna go to The Olive Garden but I didn't think the 2 hour wait sounded worth it!! Bravo ended up being really good! Definitely comparable to the olive garden but with only a 15 minute wait! Mmmmm...and with really yummy bread and oil dip!
Then we went out dancing! It's been quite a while and I wasn't sure I had it in me but I was shakin it! It was lots of fun. We went to a club on our honeymoon but haven't been since. Kate stayed at Grandma and Pappy's over night so we stayed out late! It was lots of fun!
In other news...Kate went on the potty 15 times since last sunday!! She sometimes tells me she has to go but the other times I put her on when I change her diaper or if I notice she's still dry after an hour or so. Tonight Dustin was watching her while I was at the gym and he had her go before she got a bath. Well, she went and then he put her in the bath. She's in the bath crying (she's been REALLY whiny today anyways) and saying "poopy potty" over and over. He's getting frustrated because she just went and thinks she just thinks it's a game. But eventually takes her out and she sit on the potty and pees again! I guess she really knew she still had to go! Go Kate!
In other-other news...I started working out! I'm pretty stoked about this. I'm not one to exercise... if you know me, you know this but I just wanna get in shape a little. So tonight I went to the gym with my friend for the 2nd time. It was fun and I feel great! Last time I went I came home starving so I ate a half a bag of popcorn then 4 oreos with milk!! But this time I came home and got a bowl of grapes and apples! Baby steps!

So my sister yelled at me for never blogging so here goes.
Some new tidbits of my life: *I watch a lot of tv at night. Each night is filled with great tv shows: the bachelor, american idol, ugly betty and lots of house hunters and property virgins.
*Working part time has really de-stressed my life. I never feel like thank goodness it's friday. I usually even forget it's friday!
*I need some fun and excitement in my life. I don't have many (any?) friends and feel like it's about time to get some. It's starting to get me down.
*I want to start working out. I'm going to go to the gym on campus here with my friend Monique (yes I said it...a friend. She's the mom of the baby I watch.) I'll keep you posted about if that actually happens and how that goes. I'm pretty anxious about it though, so I think it'll actually go down.
*I love Kate so much lately (as always, of course!) I don't want to jinx us by saying this but she is so good lately. She's so sweet and polite and is REALLY funny. She is silly and laughing pretty much from the time she wakes up till the time she goes to bed. I think me working part time really helps. She seems to have de-stressed as well!
*Kate can now recognize and name the letters M, K, D, P, Q, B, E, T, Y, O and the number 5
