Look at that belly!

This little guy isn't staying little for long. He's not yet a month old and weighs as much as kate did at 2 months. He only eats for 15-20 minutes which is amazing compared to the 40 minutes it took kate.

A couple more cute pics:
2 funny Kate stories from today:
Kate is very concerned with my mood. If/when I'm in a bad mood it really bothers her. Today she says "mommy, are you a lot happy?" (because it's clear i'm in a bad mood) to which I reply, "no." She asks if i'm a little bit happy. Again, "no." So she says "mommy, i need to make you happy." She gives me a big long cuddly hug and a kiss then her big cheesy smile until I smile too. She's a very sweet hearted little girl.

Today at the store I'm standing in line and Kate picks up some fruit snacks and gets really excited to get them. I tell her we don't need any. We're headed home and have snacks there. She continues to ask me for this "treat." I tell her she doesn't need a treat. She comes over and kisses my leg and says now can I have a treat? Where in the heck do they learn these things? Does a kiss really constitute getting a treat?!?

Boring update!

Go Steelers!

There hasn't really been anything exciting going on lately to blog about. I've been feeling pretty tired. Waking up to feed the baby in the middle of the night is starting to get to me! I've been struggling with whether to nap when kate does or get stuff done around the house. I always opt for the house...then I'm still tired. o'well.

Dustin's going to school and working part time. He works on campus in between classes which is really nice because he's home with us every night. His school/work day is from 9-3. So he's home by 3:30 every day. He doesn't love it but hopefully this last year goes by fast and he gets it all figured out by then!

Kate stopped being so difficult all the time. I guess she was just adjusting to the baby taking the attention away from her. She's mostly good all the time now. Hopefully I'm not jinxing myself! She likes to help with Jack. She entertains herself for hours with coloring with her new colored pencils, her baby Lila, her Dora dollhouse and reading her books. And when I say hours, I mean it. The other night she wouldn't even come to dinner. She colored from 5-7:30! She doesn't wake up screaming in the middle of the night anymore. She does sleep on our floor but she just sleeps there all night. So I'll take it!

Jack is doing good. He doesn't seem to be as content when he's awake as he probably could be. I think he's having some digestive troubles. He grunts a lot and pushes and get a red face...pretty much all the time. I started using gas drops and he seems to be a little more content. Yesterday he threw up, though (projectile that is) and has started spitting up some. I wonder if maybe he's having a reflux problem?? I have him sleep upright now in his car seat to see if that helps. He's a sweet boy, though. He rarely ever cries but grunts when he's frustrated instead.
He has developed baby acne, too. I started using Aveeno baby soap on him and it is starting to get better. I know it doesn't bother him...just me! He's still so darn cute, though!
(he loves watching the birds spin around in his swing!)

Although not exciting at all...that's an update of our life right now.

Jack went to his first football game last Friday. Dustin's brother plays high school football at our old high school so we went to watch. He slept in my sling the whole time!

GO STEELERS! We were all ready for the first Steelers game of the season!
Baby Jack had his 2 week check up today. He did great. He slept the whole time of course. He woke up just when the nurse wanted to take his picture then went right back to sleep!
He's 9lbs 4 oz now...the dr said that was an impressive weight gain for the little guy!

Here's Kate at her 2 week check up. She was slightly more awake! So far, they are COMPLETE opposites!

Life at home

Everything is going good at home. Baby Jack is an excellent baby. He sleeps a lot! He wakes up twice at night to eat, usually at about 2 and 6. It's so weird to have such a sleepy baby after having Kate! She's pretty good with him. Sometimes all she wants to do is touch him but she always means well. We're having some problems with her behavior. You can tell she's adjusting to not being the center of attention all the time anymore. She's peeing her pants a lot and is really clingy and is still waking up at night a lot. I do have her napping again, though!! O'well, I guess it will pass.

Here's our handsome little boy:

I took Kate and Baby Jack to the playground yesterday.
This is what Jack did the whole time!
