7 Random things about myself

I've been tagged by my friend Bea. So here are 7 random, probably not so interesting things about myself.

1. I hate to be interrupted. If you interrupt me while I'm talking, I probably won't repeat myself. Although...I do have a tendency to interrupt people myself so perhaps it's unfair of me. I should work on that...

2. I love to shop. I don't necessarily have to buy anything but I just love to shop. It's actually euphoric for me. I get a bit of a high from it.

3. I've always liked going to church. As soon as I could drive, I would drive to different churches by myself each week to find one I liked! Some kids like to party, others like to go to church!!

4. I don't have any talents. I'm okay at everything I do...great at nothing I do.

5. I've injured myself a number of times over the years. I've had a broken collar bone, broken arm, broken ankle, sprained ankle twice, and staples in my head.

6. I used to eat butter by the stick. My brother and I used to sneak downstairs after my mom went to bed and eat butter out of the fridge! Yummy?!?

7. Dustin and I are high school sweethearts. We met when he was in 9th grade and I was in 10th in biology class. We started dating when he was in 11th grade and I was a senior... that all started with our high school prom. We dated all through my college, I waited for him while he was on a mission for our church, and then we got married when he got home. We've been together for 7 1/2 years with many more to come!

Well...we are officially living in Pennsylvania! I have had a million things to do and haven't even had time to blog! But now we are pretty much settled in to my brother's house (Thanks Justin!) The plane ride went good and Dustin's drive went good. Kate and I were both pretty sick (If you saw me the day before I left you know what I mean!) I feel terrible that I didn't get to say goodbye to everyone. Luckily there was an extra seat on the plane so I didn't have to hold Kate the whole time. Now we are both feeling better. Pennsylvania is beautiful this time of the year. The trees are so pretty and colorful. Our families are so excited that we're home. And of course, they think Kate is just adorable. If you thought Kate was spoiled before...just wait! I left my camera at Dustin's parents house so I don't have it to post pics but my brother has taken a few...more to come! Keep posted!

Steeler's game; Kate is really excited! Here she is in her cheerleading uniform (Thanks Andrea!) with her favorite Uncle Justin

Halloween party

Saturday night was our ward Halloween party. It was lots of fun! Kate looked very cute in her Piglet costume. That was until she started rockin' out in her Led Zeppelin onsie! That completed our hippie family! That's when the party started.

I had lots of fun with my good friends Stefanie, Megan, and Bea. Here are some cute pics of us and our cute babies! I've made some really good friends here that I sure am going to miss when we move.

She's on the move

Kate will find her way across the floor in no time if there is something she wants. Here she is trying to get her toy! Then she is very happy...she got it!

Steelers Party

Sunday we had a Steelers party/going away party for us at our friend Dave & Andrea's house. Kate loved playing with the other babies! We are really going to miss our friends here when we move to PA.

Fall pics

Today Kate and her friend were playing in the pumpkins. They finally picked out their perfect pumpkin! Actually, when they were sitting together they were just interested in touching each other and eating the hay! They had such a good time, though! And so did me and Stefanie! The girls were so cute! It was pretty tricky to get them to pay attention to us. They LOVED being outside with the grass, hay and pumpkins! It was some good, clean, cheap fun! Here are a few of the cute pics!

Just wanted to give a quick family update. We are definitely moving to PA on November 1st. We are getting really excited! We are going to be staying with my brother until we find a place. I realized I haven't lived in the same town as him since we graduated high school in 2000. So I'm really looking forward to staying with him and his wife. Kate is doing great. She is getting pretty close to sitting up by herself and crawling. She scoots around by pushing herself up on her toes. If she sees something she wants...the remote control, paper or boxes, she will get to it! We are heading into night #5 of trying to get Kate to sleep straight through until after 6 AM. It isn't getting easier to listen to her cry and unfortunately our house is too small to not hear her but hopefully it will end soon. We don't have any cute pics of the family out somewhere...since we really don't go anywhere. But here we are on Sunday hanging out at home!

Sleep training 101

I need help from experienced moms out there. (Unless your name is Erica and your baby did this all on her own!! You know I love you Erica! haha) I have completed night #2 in my attempt to get Kate to stop waking up at night. She is now 5 1/2 months old and wakes up at 2:30 and 6:30 to eat...just like she has since she was about 2 weeks old. I think this is just out of habit and not out of hunger so I am trying to get rid of this night feeding. The first night she woke up at 2:33 and cried for 17 minutes (who was counting??) Then went back to sleep until 6:30. It wasn't too bad for me to hear her cry. I did surprisingly well with it. Well then last night she woke up at 1:30 and cried for 15 minutes. Then she woke up again at 4:30 and I put the pacifier in her mouth. (is that cheating?) She then woke up at 6:30. So as I head into night #3 is there anything else I need to know from all you experienced moms out there? We'll try again tonight and see how it goes. Any mom's with any advice, just let me know!

you want to crawl??

Kate is really scaring us lately...she appears as though she wants to start crawling! That's territory I'm not ready for! She pushes herself up on her hands and knees like you see in the pic. Also, she pushes herself up onto her toes and pushes forward and backwards. This weekend she started babbling! It is very cute. She says "ba ba ba." She is working really hard on sitting up by herself. She can stay there for about 15 seconds sometimes. (Sometimes not at all.) She is getting so big!
